General White Portion Mint

General White Portion Mint! This was my first official Swedish Snus Product. After using Camel Frost and Skoal Smooth mint, I found some General products at a local gas station for 1.99 a can. I am a huge mint fan and love almost anything mint. The snus I use most often through out the day is Odens Cold White Dry and Odens Double Mint White dry, which both have a nice spearmint flavor to them along with a nice burn. General mint is a peppermint white portion snus, but the flavor profile is geared more toward the American market. It is a sweet mint flavor with hint of salt, but no where near as sweet as Camel Frost or any of the Skoal Snus ( Mint and Smooth Mint). The day I discovered Swedish snus locally I bought a can of Mint, White portion, and Wintergreen and sped home to dig in. I tried the white portion first and was immediately turned off so in the fridge it went (its now in my daily rotation). Next was the wintergreen, and much like Chad from Snubie.com I HATE!!! wintergreen. I haven't found a wintergreen Dip or snus that I could enjoy without feeling nauseous. Last but not least was the Mint, I popped a portion in and fell in love! A perfect blend of tobacco and mint fused together in a convenient low drip white portion. I have gone through atleast 50 cans of general mint in my snus career and enjoyed each and every one of them. I eventually decided to order online and only stopped using General mint when I found Odens cold. General mint is very gentle on the gums and sits very comfortably in the lip. A standard 8mg per gram nic content portion with a long lasting mint flavor. The salt in this snus is there but not overwhelming which a beginner will appreciate. The salt enhances the mint and tobacco and really helps it all come together quite nicely.

Opening the can you get a look at nice soft 1 gram portions in the standard Swedish Match star formation that most of their premium white portion snuses come in. The smell is a nice Sweet peppermint with a slight tobacco smell. The smell is very refreshing and not overpowering at all, nothing compared to Thunder, Offroad or Odens. A little fluffing of the portion to even out the wedge shape from the start formation and your good to go! Once in the lip it takes about 5-10 mins. for the flavor to start to develop due to the white portion format. Once you get the flavor, it is a sweet almost chewing gum like flavor with just a hint of salt and tobacco. The length of flavor on these is one thing that made me come back for more I could easily get 1 to 1.5 hours out of these before it would start to lose flavor. General mint isn't my go to like it use to be since I started ordering snus online. I also got tired of the sweet flavor of the mint since switching to Odens. Odens isn't a sweet mint but more of a natural sharp mint flavor. If I ever run low on snus (which is very rare) I will run down the street to the gas station and grab a can of old reliable until my order arrives. If you are new to Swedish snus and like mint flavors or you are switching from American Dip to snus you will feel right at home with General mint. The prices are comparable to dip around me around $4.50-$5 per can but General sends out monthly coupons if you sign up on their website. They usually send out 3-4 at a time ranging from $1 off per can, $2 off 2 cans, Buy one get one free and my favorite get one can for $1. Its hard to pass up a can of snus that only costs a dollar! As always fell feel to leave a comment all questions and comments are appreciated, thanks for reading and keep snusing!
